Lock and Lay

A ball python breeding game with real genetics and one shared clock.

Games / Lock and Lay

Start with one rack and two snakes.

Pair a female and a male, wait for locks and ovulation, incubate the clutch for about 58 days, then cut the eggs one at a time and see what you made. Every baby follows real ball python genetics: recessive genes hide as hets, co-dominant genes make supers, and Mojave x Lesser makes a Blue Eyed Leucistic one time in four.

Cutting a clutch: each egg opens to show the baby's morph
Cut day: open each egg and see what hatched.

Breed real morphs

Over 100 genes, taken from the real morph lists. Plan a season, prove out hets when a visual baby hatches, and chase the combos everyone wants.

Holding a Blue Eyed Leucistic ball python
Every animal is its own 3D snake.

Pick them up

Every gene combination is drawn as its own 3D animal. Hold them, check their weight, watch them shed, and treat the ones that get sick.

Tubs in a rack, each animal with its name and weight
Racks modelled on the ones breeders really use.

Build your snake room

Buy racks, lay out the room, add an incubator, a feeder freezer and plants. Feed, weigh and keep the humidity right.

Offers from other players in the sales screen
Buyers knock, and other players make offers.

One clock, one market

Everyone shares the same calendar, so your animals grow, breed and hatch on the same day as everyone else's. List your babies, trade with other players, and enter the Expo Hall and Best in Show.
